The Sydney Flames have completed their roster for the WNBL26/27 season, signing emerging Australian centre Darcy Rees as the final addition to an exciting squad, pending league approval.
The young centre adds further size and depth to a Flames roster that has undergone a significant transformation ahead of the new campaign.
Rees has continued to establish herself as the Flames prepare for a season with renewed expectations under Head Coach Renae Garlepp.
Garlepp said Rees was an important addition as the club finalised its roster.
"Darcy is an exciting young player who has a really bright future ahead of her," Garlepp said.
"She gives us great size, works incredibly hard and fits exactly what we're building as a group.
"She rounds out our roster, and we're excited to see the impact she can make throughout the season."
Darcy adds that she is excited to be joining the Flames and becoming part of an organization with such a strong culture and focus on development.
"Having spent the last few years competing in Europe, I’m really looking forward to being back home in Australia, closer to friends and family, and getting to work. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of what the club is building and can’t wait for the season ahead.”
With Rees now on board, the Flames WNBL26/27 roster is complete as preparations continue ahead of the new season.
